NYT Wordle #1489 – July 17th: Cracking the Code (with Hints!)
Another day, another Wordle! Today's puzzle, #1489 (July 17th), presented a bit of a challenge for me, but with a strategic approach, I managed to crack it. If you're still scratching your head, or just want to compare notes, read on! I'll share my strategy and helpful hints to guide you to victory (or to confirm your success!).
Before we reveal the answer, here are a few subtle hints:
- Hint 1: The word contains two vowels, one of which is repeated.
- Hint 2: The word is related to a physical attribute or characteristic.
- Hint 3: Think about something you might describe using words like "large" or "strong."
Still stumped? One more slightly stronger hint:
- Hint 4: The word has a double consonant.
Okay, ready for the answer?
The answer to Wordle #1489 is BUILT.
My Wordle Strategy:
I started, as usual, with "CRANE." It gave me a couple of letters, but no ideal placement. My second guess was more strategic, aiming for common vowels and consonant combinations. I can't remember exactly which word I used for the second guess, but it ultimately narrowed down the possibilities enough that "BUILT" came to me fairly quickly from the third guess. It's all about adapting your strategy based on the feedback from each guess.
