Following the NYT Wordle Today: A Triumphant Tackle of #1395 (April 14th)
Another Monday, another Wordle! Today's puzzle (#1395, April 14th) presented a slightly tricky, but ultimately satisfying, challenge. Let's break down my journey to the solution, and hopefully, my hints will help you if you're still stuck!
Spoiler Alert! If you haven't tried today's Wordle yet, turn back now! The answer will be revealed below.
My starting word is always a strategically chosen vowel-rich option. Today, I went with "AUDIO." This revealed a single yellow 'O', indicating its presence but in the wrong position.
My second guess was "CLOUT," a word designed to introduce some common consonants and potentially snag the 'O' in the right spot. Success! The 'O' turned green, locking it into the fourth position. The 'L' also lit up yellow.
Now things were getting interesting. Knowing the 'O' was locked in and having the 'L' to play with, my third guess was "FLOOR." BOOM! The 'F' and 'R' both went green, leaving only one letter to discover. At this point, I felt a surge of that familiar Wordle adrenaline.
With 'F', 'L', 'O', and 'R' in place, the possible solutions narrowed significantly. A quick mental scan of five-letter words fitting the pattern brought me to my fourth and final guess:
FLORA
Victory!
Hints for those still battling:
- Think nature: Today's word is related to the natural world.
- Double letters are your friends (or foes): No double letters today.
- Vowel placement is key: The 'O' is crucial, and its placement is a major hint.
