Okay, are the uninitiated gone? Good. Today's word was CHIRP.
Now, how did I fare? Well, let me share my journey, complete with the hints I would have offered along the way.
Hint 1: Think of the sounds of springtime.
My starting word is always a strategically chosen vowel-rich option. Today, I opted for "AUDIO." This gave me a yellow "I" and nothing else. Not the most helpful start, but we press on!
Hint 2: This word is often associated with birds.
My second guess, building off that "I" and incorporating common consonants, was "TRICK." Another yellow "I," but this time in a different position! Progress! Also, a grey "C" which sadly eliminated a common letter.
Hint 3: This word is a verb, and describes a short, sharp sound.
Feeling a little pressured, I went with "WHISK." This was a gamble, and it didn't pay off. All grey! Panic starts to set in.
Hint 4: The word starts with a "CH" sound.
At this point, the springtime and bird clues should be converging. My fourth guess was "CHIMP." So close! A green "C," "H," and "I" but the "M" and "P" were grey. One letter left!
Hint 5: This word rhymes with "grip."
Finally, with a burst of inspiration (and a little bit of luck), I landed on "CHIRP." Victory! A satisfying wave of green washed over my screen.
